Process

We have a comprehensive list of goals for your projects that take into account various aspects of sustainability, client needs, and environmental responsibility. To ensure that your projects align with these goals, here are some specific strategies and considerations you can incorporate into your design process:

Client Interaction and Budget Consciousness
  • Conduct thorough client interviews and needs assessments to understand their goals and priorities.
  • Establish clear communication channels to keep clients informed and engaged throughout the design process.
  • Provide cost-effective design alternatives that align with the client's budget while still achieving their goals.
Resource Efficiency and Sustainability
  • Consider adaptive reuse of existing structures or elements to reduce waste and resource consumption. Find ways to make roomss feel more spacious even in tight conditions.
  • Implement energy-efficient design strategies, such as optimizing building orientation for natural light and passive solar heating.
  • Explore the use of recycled and sustainable materials in your designs.
  • Prioritize low-impact construction techniques and practices.

Note: It is not always necessary to build extensively. Sometimes a change in furniture locations or removing some walls or adding windows can solve the problems with the existing design.

Climate Resiliency
  • Conduct climate analysis and design with climate resilience in mind, considering factors like extreme weather events and rising sea levels.
  • Include features such as flood-resistant foundations, stormwater management systems, and resilient building materials.
Material Selection
  • Choose materials that are renewable, recycled, or locally sourced to minimize carbon emissions from transportation.
  • Evaluate the environmental and social impact of materials to ensure they are fabricated without harming communities.
  • Prioritize materials with long lifespans to reduce the need for frequent replacements.
Nature-Inspired Design
  • Incorporate biophilic design principles to enhance occupants' connection to nature, even in compact spaces. Introducing natural light can make spaces more pleasant .
  • Use natural forms and patterns in your designs to optimize energy efficiency and work with natural processes.
Zoning and Historic Context
  • Familiarize yourself with local zoning regulations and design within the constraints they impose.
  • Respect and integrate the historic context of the area into your designs, preserving cultural heritage when applicable.
Well-Being of Occupants
  • Prioritize indoor air quality, natural ventilation, and access to green spaces to promote the well-being of building occupants.
  • Design spaces that foster a sense of community and social interaction, even in dense urban environments.
Life-Cycle Analysis
  • Consider the long-term life-cycle costs and environmental impacts of your design choices, including maintenance and operational expenses.
Collaboration and Certification
  • Collaborate with experts in sustainability, such as environmental engineers and green building consultants, to ensure your designs meet sustainability standards.
Continuous Learning
  • Stay updated on the latest developments in sustainable design, construction materials, and technologies to continually improve your projects.

By incorporating these strategies and considerations into your design process, you can effectively optimize your projects to align with your stated goals and contribute to a more sustainable and resilient built environment.

We oversee construction work to ensure compliance with the Construction Documents. We represent your interests during construction to verify that the work, for which payment is requested, is correctly executed. We assist in resolving any issues that arise during construction, ensuring your interests are well protected.

Once you decide to proceed with the design, we refine the schematic design with precise dimensions to ensure everything fits. We will meet with you multiple times to finalize the design style, focusing on details and material selection. Our design process incorporates sustainable technologies and green materials.

We produce detailed drawings that include dimensioned plans and elevations, specific material specifications, construction details, room elevations (e.g., bathrooms and kitchens), framing plans, electrical plans, and schedules for windows, doors, finishes, light fixtures, hardware, and other components.

We begin by meeting with you to identify the issues that need resolution. Next, we develop a program, evaluate the site and/or existing building(s), check zoning, explore options, and identify priorities to allocate your budget effectively.

If special permits are required, we assist in preparing the necessary documents and presenting them to relevant government boards. We help you develop a list of contractors and use our construction documents for bidding. We then assist in organizing the bid process and selecting the contractor.

After you occupy the space, we provide ongoing support to address any issues that may arise, ensuring the best functioning of your building.

We create several design options and sketch architectural layouts. Afterward, we meet with you to discuss how these options address your needs and help you prioritize your most urgent requirements. With your feedback, we refine the schematic design, enabling you to visualize the final architectural concept. For cost control, we collaborate with contractors to obtain a preliminary cost estimate.
